Love RSS?
I do too. Now you'll really love this:
We care about your image.
I do too. Now you'll really love this:
Check out the awesome goodness I have added at the bottom of my Home Page... It is an eBay widget customized to my inert geekiness and passion for HOT emerging technology tools. The eBay link in the title of this post will bring you to eBay's creation tool hot-spot where you too can enlist this fun bubble on your own web pages. Hmm a tutorial seems in order, if anyone is interested, please post a reply and I will get busy teaching you how to install this sort of thing!
Another cool hack I discovered recently is a way to get an eBay RSS feed for your search terms. The method is pretty easy so I'll give you the simple directions:
1) Copy and paste this address (yes I know it's little... just highlight it)
http://rss.api.ebay.com/ws/rssapi?FeedName=SearchResults&siteId=0&language=en-US&output=RSS20&satitle=SEARCHTERM&sacat=CATAGORYNUMBER
into your browser's address bar. (note: thats BAR not BOX. FYI: If you don't know what I am referring to or you think I mean your google/msn/ask-jeevies or whatever 'box' you can just skip through these instructions for I fear you have a slim chance of getting what I am hacking anyway.
2) Change the two fields I have put into caps: SEARCHTERM and CATAGORYNUMBER; You can find your catagory number here: eBay catagory numbers.
3) Press the Red button Foo! ..no really.. add them to your RSS readers & Enjoy! :)

I'm working on resolving a few RSS issues while also trying to decide the best method for 'automated' RSS. Yes, I am a developer!!!!! When I figure out my method, I'll let you know the in and outs in case you are new to RSS... see you soon I hope!

I'll go out on a limb and compare the popularity of RSS v. traditional Webpages and digital cameras v. film cameras: One will never replace the other yet the convenience of each and their lack of completeness is only somewhat missed... The nescessity of each has its own merits, advantages and disadvantages. Hence, ANNOUNCING:http://feedicons.com/ - Let us all take responsible action and now show the world one icon to enlist an understanding of the 'new language'.
note: I've yet to implement this myself... but it's on my list of thing to do.

I had a german reader come to visit my blog earlier this week and when trying to visit his site, I tried my current old link to the google translator home page and came up with half a page of words translated at best. Similarly, after browsing my RSS subscriptions, I read from other web developers similar comments - so.. please! DO NOT USE Google translation... that is until it get improved. I am redirecting my viewers to babelfish.

In my last blog post I asked, “What good is a blog anyway?” The title is a little harsh now in retrospect - but maybe since, I have given serious thought to the benefits of blogging – and now there are so many! Here is the first in my new series on "What good is blog anyway?
Reason #1 - Seek, Search and find treasure in Blogs -- Over the weekend, I was directed to and found a very useful (and hopefully also very fortuitous) blog about the 2007 CES Conference -- which was presented to me from my search terms "need" and "photographer" through the new swamii.com search engine website -- which a review was posted to the TechCrunch network --- which was fed to me through my mobile phone’s mini-rss application
-- which I found while researching RSS tools
-- which were posted on blogs. Start to finish - with many tools in between were... you guessed it -- blogs!
The conference looks very exciting and I hope to attend. Also, I may have landed in a field of strawberries. For those of you, who do not like strawberries, imagine yourself landing in a warm fuzzy or something like that.
All this treasure was sorted out from a blog. If you read my post backwards, you will see how one blog started a cascade of fruitful events! I am in debt to blog. Thank you Thank you Thank you almighty blog.
If you get a chance check out all the great reviews and info on www.carrypad.com; the information will help you make an informed, educated purchase on your own UMPC
– if you haven’t checked them out, maybe it is time you did.

A little here a little there... looking into OPML Technology and will have to give an update after more research has come in. It seems to be an import/export tool for RSS Desktop and Mobile readers. More later on the OPML topic.

After much deliberation and solution searching, yesterday I found a simple tool to resource my RSS Creation; it is CLEAN, EASY and might I add ATTRACTIVE? Yes! The RSS creator interface called 'FeedSpring' can be downloaded (no I'm not getting any $ from them for this plug) here: FREE RSS Feed Generator Software + without Ads... Imagine that... no extra editing :)
My feed can be picked up through the icon banner at the top of the page or right here : The Robin-Ann.com Web & World RSS Feed".
I am glad to finally understand and make use of this very valuable technology. Here are some more useful RSS links:
